The two campers after a rainy night.
Andrew and Jack are on their first camping trip.
Me: “How old are you, Ian?”
Ian: “Three.”
Me: “No, you are two.”
Ian: “I was two, but Daddy says I grow a little every day.”
In the middle of a painting session, Ian crumples up his painting and throws it across the room: “I made a paper airplane for Uncle Pete!”
Edie
Edie’s first dance performance. Edie is the dancer in the red tutu.
Edie has taken dance for 1 1/2 years now and had her first dance performance yesterday. It was really neat. Her dance school has a separate performance for the creative movement kids (ages 3-5) that is small, does not involve any costumes or makeup, and is not intimidating. The kids in the first class all performed little solos, and none of the kids (except Karl) looked the least bit nervous.
Jack and I had the opportunity to watch the Alvin Ailey dance company perform in the Twin Cities on Tuesday! It was fantastic. (We couldn’t bring Edie because they require kids to be at least 6-years-old.)
Jack’s favorite dance was Takademe - a solo by a man in red pants that involves lots of amazing jumping and dramatic pauses. Inspired after the show, Jack started dancing in the parking ramp. He asked me to take a video of him in the rain and busted out these sweet dance moves.

Two pretty days…and I think that’s all we get…so we’re enjoying them.
Edie, Ian (in BurleY) and I went on a 7 mile bike ride last night! Edie is becoming quite the biker! She talked the entire time and enjoyed the fact that it was getting dark out and was past her bedtime by the time we returned home.
“When I’m biking and it’s cold out I open my mouth and taste the air. It tastes good. Do you ever taste the air?” -Edie
